There are 6 "cast iron sewage discharge pipes on the site of the plot, which show various signs of failure, including cracks inside the castings and sealing failure at the lower level. Polypipe Construction Services intervened because tenants complained about the unpleasant odor caused by pipe leaks, which are usually caused by waste accumulation inside the pipes. But the age of the architecture means that this is far from a simple project. The original location of the chimney was in a narrow and awkward space, which meant that getting new pipes in was far from easy. Over the years, changes in apartment layout have made this task more complex, including upgrading bathrooms to wet rooms and relocating washbasins and toilets.
